You've probably heard me say this a few times, but it's true—I envy the 9-5 jobs for their reliable paychecks, compared to living invoice to invoice. Not to mention the yearly bonuses and Christmas staff parties.
I decided to create an event that caters to people like myself, and I'm so glad I did. It was one of those ideas that wouldn't go away. After talking about it for three years, we finally made it happen. Special thanks to my team—Jacoba and our newest addition Jessica—and to Raj, the owner of Penthouse, for providing such a lovely venue. And finally, heartfelt thanks to my wife Linnea for giving me the confidence I needed to pull this off.
During the event, I realized it was even more necessary than I'd thought. Leaders, entrepreneurs, and small business owners often focus so much on serving others that they forget what it feels like to be served. With this event, we changed that—they didn't have to plan, cater, or arrange entertainment. We handled everything; they just had to show up.
